The Program in Health Disparities Research offers opportunities for students, community members, and researchers who are addressing health disparities among underserved populations.

Pilot Grants

One-year research projects that focus on reducing and eliminating health disparities. 

Trainee Travel Awards

Travel scholarships for graduate students and postdoctoral trainees to attend regional or national health disparities-related conferences.

Applications are competitively awarded on a bi-annual basis.  Open application period is 3 months prior to deadlines of January 15 and September 1. 

Community Travel Awards

Travel scholarships for community members who are Program in Health Disparities Research members to present on his/her health disparities-related expertise. 

Applications are competitively awarded on a bi-annual basis.  Open application period is 3 months prior to deadlines of January 15 and September 1.

CLIPPERS AND CURLS

If you have an interest in public health and health equity, join us as a volunteer on the Clippers and Curls initiative. We partner with local barbershops and salons, where quality health care is provided to our communities in a comfortable and trusted environment. Each event offers FREE preventative health care services for anyone in the community.
