The National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN) is a nationwide consortium of biomedical professionals and institutions collaborating to provide all trainees across the biomedical, behavioral, clinical and social sciences with evidence-based mentorship and professional development programming. NRMN’s program models emphasize the benefits and challenges of diversity, inclusivity and culture within mentoring relationships, and more broadly the research workforce. The Goal of the National Research Mentoring Network is to enhance the diversity of the NIH-funded research workforce.

NRMN Professional Development Core at UMN

Kola Okuyemi, MD, MPH is the Director of the Professional Development Core within UMN. The NRMN Professional Development Core at UMN includes four different, but complementary and successful models for training and dissemination. These models fall under two categories:
