“Level 1” projects are pilot projects that are new and have not been funded by the pilot grant funding mechanism from the Program in Health Disparities Research in previous years.

“Level 2” projects are for prior awardees of community-academic pilot grants through the Program in Health Disparities Research. Projects in this category should be the next level or phase of research that follows from the prior pilot grant award between a community-based organization and an academic researcher with a previous partnership.

 2013 Pilot Grants Schedule:

  • February 6: Request for Proposals announced
  • February 22: Pre-Application Workshop 
  • March 6: Deadline for mandatory Letter of Intent on a health disparities research topic from community-based organization with an interest in health disparities.
  • March 6 – March 29: Community-based organizations matched with academic researchers based on research interests and invited to submit full application

*Please note the following changes to the Schedule:

  • April 26 by 4:00 p.m.: Full research proposals due from research teams
  • April 29 – May 24: Grants reviewed by committee of community and academic experts
  • June 7: Grants reviewed by advisory council members
  • June 12: 2013 Grant awardees announced
