Travel Awards

Travel scholarships for graduate students to attend regional or national health disparities-related conferences are competitively awarded twice per year. The deadlines for applying are January 15th, and July 15th. Funds for these awards are made available by the Program in Health Disparities Research at the University of Minnesota Medical School.

Requirements for the award include:

  • Conference or presentation must be relevant to health disparities.
  • Program in Health Disparities Research will contribute up to $750 and students mentor must agree to contribute the first $250 for a total award of up to $1000.
  • Student must be presenting at conference.
  • Upon return, evidence of conference attendance must be submitted to the Program in Health Disparities Research.
  • Applicant must be a current graduate student in any program at the University of Minnesota.
  • Preference will be given to persons whom have not received prior travel awards.
